The Riviera de São Lourenço neighborhood in Bertioga, on the northern coast of São Paulo, is actively participating in the national Blue November campaign, focused on prostate cancer prevention. Coordinated by Sobloco Construtora, the company responsible for developing the neighborhood, the initiative gains strength each year with an increasing number of partners and volunteers joining the awareness efforts, highlighting the importance of men’s health and early diagnosis.
“Blue November is essential to break taboos and encourage men to take care of their health. Information and early diagnosis save lives. Promoting access to prevention is a commitment that involves society as a whole,” emphasizes Beatriz Almeida, deputy director of Sobloco Construtora. Throughout the month, Riviera de São Lourenço is “dressed in blue,” promoting awareness activities, discussion circles, and sports events focused on men’s health and quality of life.
Blue November is an international movement aimed at alerting men to the importance of preventive exams and healthy habits. In Brazil, prostate cancer is the second most common among men, with an estimated 72,000 new cases annually between 2023 and 2025, according to INCA (National Cancer Institute).
“Just like in Pink October, we want to expand the reach of Blue November and reinforce that prevention is a form of care and love for life,” concludes Beatriz Almeida.
