Park City opens the 2025-2026 winter with Deer Valley expansion, the new Sunrise Gondola at Park City Mountain, a Delta seasonal flight and an HBO-featured luxury house.
Ski season officially starts in Utah
Known for having some of the best snow in the world, Park City, in Utah, is ready to welcome visitors for a new winter season. Park City Mountain starts operations today, December 5, while Deer Valley Resort begins opening its runs gradually from tomorrow. Both resorts are expected to remain open until April 19, 2026.
The destination stands out as one of the most complete winter resorts in the United States. In addition to skiing, Park City offers upscale lodging, restaurants, arts and an active après-ski scene. This combination keeps the city high on the list for Brazilian and international travelers.
Deer Valley more than doubles skiable terrain
Deer Valley is undergoing an ambitious expansion that will shape the resort for future generations. This season’s highlights include 80+ new ski runs and 7 new lifts, among them the East Village Express, a 10-passenger chairlift. The project reinforces the resort’s signature blend of service and sophistication.
Once completed, the expansion will more than double Deer Valley’s skiable terrain. For the 2025-2026 season, the resort will feature 203 runs spread across 1,740 hectares, served by 31 lifts that open progressively throughout the winter. Skiers and riders will find more variety in terrain and difficulty levels.
Sunrise Gondola debuts at Park City Mountain
At Park City Mountain, the big news is the Sunrise Gondola, with cabins for up to 10 people. The modern lift replaces a previous chairlift and improves mountain access from the Canyons Village side. It also elevates the area’s role as a key access point to the resort.
With Sunrise in operation, the hotels Pendry Park City, The Lift and Hyatt Centric are now officially ski-in/ski-out properties. Throughout the season, Pendry will host special activations at Plaza Pendry, located between the hotel’s restaurants and just steps from the new gondola. This creates a more dynamic base area experience with convenience and entertainment.
New Lima–Salt Lake City seasonal flight
Delta Air Lines has launched a new seasonal flight connecting Lima, Peru, to Salt Lake City International Airport, just 35 minutes by car from Park City. The route boosts accessibility for international visitors, particularly Brazilians, who already rank among the top five source markets for the destination. For South Americans, reaching Utah’s snow becomes even easier.
The daily service began on December 4 and runs until January 25, 2026, operated with Boeing 767-300 aircraft. Latam offers connections from around 30 South American cities into Lima for the Delta flight. The network is designed to allow trips with only one connection on the way to Park City.
Cinematic experience at Mountainhead House
Off the slopes, Park City is also in the spotlight on screen. The more than 1,300 m² Mountainhead House, featuring contemporary architecture and sweeping views of Deer Valley’s mountains, was chosen as a filming location for HBO’s satire “Mountainhead”. The production further cements the city’s cinematic appeal.
