Brazilian pastry chef Júlia Cherem debuts an online course that combines recipes, sales, marketing and finance to train pastry entrepreneurs.
Online course to turn passion into a pastry business
Pastry chef and businesswoman Júlia Cherem, founder of the brand Júlia Cherem – Doces Momentos, has launched her first online pastry course. Known for her handcrafted cakes and sweets, she leads one of the fastest-growing independent patisseries in Florianópolis. Now, she brings together 10 years of experience in a complete training program.
The course targets those who want to start or structure a pastry business, going far beyond recipes. It includes techniques, processes and practical lessons learned in daily production. The goal is to offer a solid foundation to turn passion into a profitable venture.
The project had been in the works for about two years, driven by Júlia’s wish to support beginners. She recalls learning many things by trial and error and wants to make this path smoother for others. In this sense, she shares advice she would have liked to receive at the beginning of her career.
Key recipes from the patisserie menu
The course gathers the main recipes from the brand’s menu. One module focuses on cake slices, covering sponges, fillings, toppings and decoration. It also highlights combinations that have become customer favorites.
There is a dedicated module for cookies, featuring different flavors and textures. A section on brigadeiros explores classic and creative variations of the Brazilian favorite. The course also includes mini cakes, a strong trend in the events market.
All classes are pre-recorded, edited and organized into modules, with a focus on clarity and practicality. There is no live content, so students can learn at their own pace. This flexibility benefits those who work or manage a busy routine.
Sales, marketing, pricing and financial management
Beyond recipes, the course includes modules on topics Júlia considers crucial for making a living from pastry. One module is dedicated to marketing and sales, on and off social media. It shows how to attract customers and communicate the value of handmade products.
Another module focuses on organization and productivity in the kitchen, helping students plan production and save time. The training also covers pricing and financial management, with a complete spreadsheet available to participants. This structure helps bakers understand costs, margins and profit.
There is specific content on social media and digital positioning, essential for made-to-order businesses. For Júlia, “there is no point in having amazing recipes if you do not know how to sell or price them properly”. That is why she designed a course meant to be complete, practical and transformative.
Full course or stand-alone modules
Students can enroll in the full course or choose individual modules, such as the cookie module only. Even in the stand-alone options, the marketing, sales and finance content is included. This ensures that every student has access to the business side of pastry.
The training was structured to serve a wide audience. It welcomes beginners who want to enter the market or earn extra income. It also supports experienced bakers looking to refine their techniques and business skills.
Júlia says she imagines students who are in love with pastry and want to professionalize what they already do. The course is meant to be a real step forward in their personal and professional journeys. Practice, structure and encouragement go hand in hand in the program.
