Brahma releases 12 collectible cans for Carnival 2026, with an unprecedented tribute to the mestre-sala and porta-bandeira couple.

    Exclusive Carnival 2026 collection

For the third consecutive year, Brahma joins Rio Carnaval to launch an exclusive themed can collection. The 2026 edition celebrates the 12 samba schools in the Special Group, showcasing each school’s colors and passion. In addition, it reinforces the brand’s long-standing connection with samba culture.

The main novelty of this collection lies in the visual design of the cans. For the first time, the artwork pays tribute to the mestre-sala and porta-bandeira as a couple. In this way, Brahma highlights two central figures responsible for protecting the symbols of each school.

In previous editions, the spotlight was on the porta-bandeira alone, an iconic Carnival character. Now, the brand broadens the tribute to emphasize the importance of the duo together. Thus, it recognizes the graceful choreography and ceremony of those who guard the school’s flag.

    Tribute to the school’s banner

The mestre-sala and porta-bandeira couple has the mission of carrying and protecting the pavilion, the school’s highest symbol. With traditional movements and precise steps, they present the flag with elegance and respect. Therefore, they play a decisive role in the evaluation of the parades.

By featuring this duo on collectible cans, Brahma reinforces its bond with samba and Carnival traditions. The initiative also acknowledges the artistic and historical value of these performers. Each design element seeks to translate that importance into the packaging.

Deep roots with Rio and samba

Brahma’s relationship with Carnival extends across Brazil but is especially strong in Rio de Janeiro. The beer brand was born on the site that today houses the Marquês de Sapucaí sambadrome. The former brewery area gave way to the expansion of the parade avenue, symbolizing this historic bond.

Furthermore, it was due to Rio’s Carnival that Brahma began to be bottled back in 1934. The growing demand during the festivities pushed the change in consumption format. In this sense, Carnival helped shape the brand’s own trajectory.

“This historical connection motivates us to celebrate and recognize those who make Carnival’s magic happen. By launching the Carnival 2026 can collection, with the unprecedented tribute to the mestre-sala and porta-bandeira couple, we reinforce our mission to be present in the rehearsal venues and the most important moments of the festivities, honoring the traditions that make our Carnival Brazil’s greatest cultural expression,” says Felipe Cerchiari, Brahma’s marketing director.

“The National Samba Day celebration is a very important moment for everyone who lives Rio Carnaval. Being able to see Brahma’s new cans, once again customized in the colors of the samba schools, is a gift for all of us who live and love the greatest show on Earth. Everyone is already eager to start collecting them,” highlights Liesa president, Gabriel David.

    Launch event and sales

The complete collection of 12 cans will be unveiled to the public this Friday, November 28, during a special event. The launch is part of the National Samba Day celebrations and strengthens the partnership with Rio’s Carnival scene. Thus, fans will get a first look at the new designs.

The cans will be available at Cidade do Samba on the event date exclusively for display. The idea is to bring the brand even closer to the samba schools and their communities. In this way, Brahma reinforces its presence behind the scenes of the festivities.

Sales to the general public will begin on December 15 at major supermarket chains. The cans will also be sold at samba school rehearsal venues throughout Rio de Janeiro. The collection will be offered in the 473 ml format.

With this initiative, Brahma unites tradition, memory and passion for samba in a new collectible series. The cans celebrate the mestre-sala and porta-bandeira couple and the strength of the samba schools. As a result, the brand reaffirms its role as a historic partner of Carnival.
