Lacoste opens Le Club Lacoste Melbourne during the Australian Open and appoints German player Eva Lys as its new female brand ambassador.

As the international tennis season begins in Australia, Lacoste unveiled a new edition of Le Club Lacoste, this time in Melbourne. The launch event took place on the eve of the Australian Open. Moreover, it brought together figures from sports and fashion at a strategic moment for the brand.

Guests included Lacoste ambassadors Novak Djokovic, Grigor Dimitrov, Daniil Medvedev, and Arthur Cazaux. They joined the brand to mark the official opening of the space. In this way, Lacoste emphasized the link between athletic performance and contemporary elegance.

    Le Club Lacoste Melbourne

Le Club Lacoste Melbourne sits on the banks of the Yarra River and takes over the AFLOAT venue. The space operates as a pop-up club designed for exchanges and immersive experiences. Meanwhile, throughout the tournament, it serves as the brand’s main hub in the city.

Following editions in New York and Madrid, the Melbourne version continues to blend sport, elegance, and the French art de vivre. The venue welcomes partners, athletes, special guests, and the public. In addition, it hosts exclusive meetups, special events, and collection presentations.

Lacoste says the concept aligns with the spirit of René Lacoste, who advocated for style and performance to go together. Therefore, the club aims to expand how people experience tennis culture. Finally, the program also includes moments for relaxation.

    Eva Lys joins as ambassador

During the event, Lacoste officially announced German tennis player Eva Lys as its new female brand ambassador. The company describes her as a rising name in sophisticated sportswear. In addition, she joins the brand’s athlete lineup tied to the professional circuit.

According to Lacoste, Eva Lys represents a generation defined by authenticity, joy, and spontaneity. On court, she embodies competitive drive and strong team spirit. On the other hand, off court she is presented as a style reference, bringing modernity, boldness, and natural elegance.

Lacoste says her arrival reinforces the brand’s commitment to René Lacoste’s legacy. Thus, it supports the vision of a sport where style and performance move together. In this way, the partnership strengthens the brand’s female representation among athletes.

    Australian Open 2026 collection

As part of the event, Lacoste also introduced its Australian Open 2026 Collection. The line pays tribute to Melbourne’s vibrant energy and the Australian summer. Moreover, it was designed for athletes and fashion-minded fans.

The collection includes technical polos and breathable tees with dynamic cuts. Graphic design draws from tournament colors such as lagoon blue, bright white, and subtle coral accents. Next, accessories like caps, bags, and towels feature the brand’s crocodile signature.

A lifestyle capsule completes the lineup, extending the tournament spirit beyond the courts. The proposal blends comfort, casual styling, and urban elegance. Finally, the brand says the collection is now available on its official website.

    About Lacoste

Lacoste’s story began in the 1920s with tennis legend René Lacoste, whose inventions influenced both sport and fashion. In 1927, he replaced long-sleeve woven shirts with an innovative garment for the court. Next, in 1933, that creation became the iconic Lacoste Polo Shirt.

Since then, the brand says it has balanced elegance, freedom of movement, and comfort in its collections. Therefore, it continues to connect its sporting heritage with contemporary lifestyle. On the other hand, Lacoste keeps expanding its presence across global tennis moments.
