Filipe Ret drops “Rap da Lealdade” on Jan. 14, paying tribute to 1990s Rio rap with baile references, Voltmix grooves, and Miami Bass influences.

Filipe Ret kicks off 2026 with the single “Rap da Lealdade”, arriving on January 14. The track revisits conscious rap themes tied to friendship and loyalty. Moreover, it will be part of an EP honoring the origins of Rio’s rap scene.

The song is built around a Voltmix-style beat, a foundation for landmark Rio rap tracks. The release cites references such as “Nosso Sonho” by Claudinho & Buchecha and “Rap da Felicidade” by Cidinho & Doca. In this way, Ret taps into a sound that influenced his musical identity.

    Baile-era inspirations

In today’s urban music context, the track highlights the affectionate and collective spirit of 1990s Rio bailes. Next, the beats evoke the sound crews that shaped nightlife across the city. As a result, the single strengthens a broader push to reconnect with foundational rap aesthetics.

In his lyrics, Ret emphasizes real friendships and the people who stayed through difficult periods. On the other hand, the composition keeps a light touch while respecting Rio rap tradition. The overall feel also draws on Miami Bass references.

    Culture, identity, and legacy

By returning to those roots, the rapper brings together elements that helped shape today’s urban music landscape. Therefore, the track connects to the rap, trap, and funk triad. Ret, who was born and raised in Catete, Rio de Janeiro, frames the theme as part of his personal story.

“This is a song of gratitude. A thank-you to a great friend, to God, and to the architects of Rio rap who shaped our culture and still strongly influence our lives,” says Filipe Ret.

A preview of the track spread across the artist’s social channels and surpassed 7.5 million plays. Meanwhile, fans reposted and referenced the content to talk about friendship, loyalty, and gratitude. In this way, the organic response echoed the message Ret aimed to deliver.

    Career momentum

With more than 15 years in music, Ret is presented as Brazil’s most-listened rap and trap artist. He has more than 9.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. In addition, his global audience exceeds 25.5 million followers across official platforms.

He also holds 135 gold, platinum, and diamond certifications across singles and albums. His catalog includes nine records, including “Nume Epílogo” (2025). Finally, the release states he spent more than 150 consecutive days at \( \#1 \) on Spotify Brazil within the rap segment.
