Copacabana Palace launches the 3rd Provence Brunch edition with Whispering Angel rosé and a special Sunday buffet at Pérgula restaurant.
The iconic Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, in Rio de Janeiro, is hosting the 3rd edition of the Provence Brunch, an experience that celebrates French culture through haute cuisine. The event is held in partnership with the renowned Whispering Angel rosé from Château d’Esclans, one of Provence’s most prestigious wineries.
The series started on November 16 and takes place on selected Sundays at Pérgula restaurant. Upcoming dates include December 14, 2025, January 11, February 8 and March 22, 2026. Thus, guests can enjoy elegant Sunday afternoons by the hotel’s famed pool, with a Provençal touch by the sea.
Special buffet with Copacabana Palace classics
The Provence Brunch features a special buffet showcasing some of the property’s signature recipes. Guests find fresh salads, hot dishes, live risotto stations, a curated selection of cheeses, cold cuts and antipasti, as well as desserts and handmade pasta. In this way, the event combines variety, refinement and comfort food.
The star wine of the experience is Whispering Angel, poured throughout the brunch. Recognized as the best‑selling Provence rosé in the world, it is admired for its light, delicate and elegant profile. On the palate, it is refreshing; on the nose, it reveals red fruit aromas with subtle floral notes.
Whispering Angel: from Provence to Rio
Produced by Château d’Esclans, Whispering Angel is crafted from a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle, grown near the Esclans Valley and in the Côtes de Provence region. Harvesting takes place at night, helping preserve the grapes’ freshness and natural acidity.
After a strict selection process, the grapes undergo gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless‑steel tanks under controlled temperature. The wine is then stirred with bâtonnage twice a week. A careful cooling phase completes the process, preserving its liveliness, elegance and distinctive aromatic profile.
At Provence Brunch, guests experience the wine’s freshness and finesse paired with Copacabana Palace’s cuisine. As a result, Sunday afternoons become lighter and more memorable, blending Carioca lifestyle with a touch of Côte d’Azur glamour on the edge of Copacabana Beach.
Belmond: legendary journeys and slow luxury
Belmond was born from a passion for connecting discerning travelers with extraordinary properties, destinations and journeys. Its portfolio includes hotels, trains, river cruises and safari lodges, all guided by the concept of Slow Luxury. This philosophy invites guests to slow down, enjoy time and connect deeply with local culture and nature.
With more than 45 years of history, beginning with the acquisition of Hotel Cipriani in Venice in 1976, Belmond has grown into a global collection of 44 properties across 25 countries and territories. Exceptional destinations linked by legendary journeys form the core of the brand, where the journey itself is as meaningful as the arrival.
A pioneer in slow travel, the company has operated the legendary Venice Simplon‑Orient‑Express since 1982. Over the decades, Belmond has expanded to include untouched beach resorts such as Maroma on the Riviera Maya, historic retreats like Villa San Michele near Florence, urban icons such as Copacabana Palace, and gateways to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Hotel das Cataratas in Brazil’s Iguaçu National Park.
As a guardian of iconic properties, Belmond is committed to preserving heritage while building a “legacy of the future”. Working closely with local communities, regional talents and renowned chefs, designers and artists, the brand continues to champion the art of travel. Since 2019, Belmond has been part of LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), the world’s leading luxury group.
Château d’Esclans and the Rosé Renaissance
Located northeast of Saint‑Tropez, in Côtes de Provence, Château d’Esclans is a global benchmark for high‑end rosé wines. The estate underwent a decisive transformation in 2006, when entrepreneur Sacha Lichine acquired the property with a clear mission: to lead a “Rosé Renaissance”.
Together with acclaimed French winemaker Patrick Léon, Lichine repositioned rosé on the international market, turning it into a symbol of global prestige. The Maison’s authenticity lies in a production philosophy that merges tradition and innovation, from grape harvesting designed to preserve flavor intensity to its meticulous fermentation techniques.
The portfolio includes the versatile Rock Angel, the sophisticated Château d’Esclans and Garrus, and the iconic Whispering Angel. Since 2019, this selection has been part of Moët Hennessy, the wines and spirits division of LVMH, alongside labels such as Moët & Chandon and Dom Pérignon.
This partnership has further increased international visibility for Provence, consolidating the region as a leading reference in rosé wines. Consequently, the Provence Brunch at Copacabana Palace offers guests in Rio a refined way to discover one of the most celebrated rosés on the planet in an equally emblematic setting.
