Soul Jazz Nights launches a new phase at ACASO Cultural with “Brasilidade em Dois Sopros”, reuniting Maurício Einhorn and Carlos Malta.
New stage at ACASO Cultural
The project Soul Jazz Nights, created and produced by Luciana Moisakis, starts a new chapter on December 14, at 5 p.m. Known for its itinerant format and artistic quality, the series now takes over ACASO Cultural, in Botafogo, one of Rio’s emerging cultural venues.
To celebrate this new phase, Soul Jazz Nights presents the unprecedented concert “Brasilidade em Dois Sopros”. In this way, the event brings together two leading figures of Brazilian instrumental music: Maurício Einhorn and Carlos Malta.
“Brasilidade em Dois Sopros” with Einhorn and Malta
One of the world’s greatest harmonica players, Maurício Einhorn is the author of key works in the Brazilian repertoire. His compositions include standards such as “Batida Diferente” and “Estamos Aí”, widely recognized by musicians and audiences.
Carlos Malta, a multi-instrumentalist and researcher of Brazilian sounds, built his career on versatility and innovation with wind instruments. Moreover, he moves through different formats and styles, expanding the language of jazz and instrumental music.
Contemporary trio and jazz dialogue
The concert also features three highly regarded musicians from the contemporary scene: Natan Gomes (piano), Zé Luiz Maia (bass) and Xande Figueiredo (drums). Together, they provide the rhythmic and harmonic foundation for the meeting of the two lead soloists.
The ensemble highlights the dialogue between tradition and improvisation, central elements of Brazilian jazz and of the Soul Jazz Nights concept. Thus, the audience experiences a repertoire that blends sophistication, spontaneity and strong national identity.
Commitment to instrumental excellence
Created to offer high-level musical experiences, Soul Jazz Nights brings audiences closer to different strands of instrumental music. With this edition, the project reinforces its commitment to artistic excellence and to promoting great Brazilian musicians.
Furthermore, the move to ACASO Cultural strengthens the live music circuit in Botafogo. In this sense, the series broadens its reach and continues to foster encounters between artists, listeners and new sonic explorations.
