Lewis Capaldi plays Rio de Janeiro’s Qualistage on March 18, 2026, with special guest Ruel in a solo Brazil show.

Rio de Janeiro date with special guest Ruel

International star Lewis Capaldi, known worldwide for his hit “Someone You Loved”, has announced a solo show in Brazil in 2026. The concert will take place on March 18 at Qualistage, in Rio de Janeiro, and will feature singer Ruel as a special guest.

Tickets for the general public go on sale starting December 4. Online sales begin at 9 a.m., followed by the official box office at 10 a.m. In addition, fans will be able to pay in up to three interest-free installments.

Tickets will be available online and at the official box office, with no service fee charged at the physical outlet. The show is promoted by Live Nation Brazil, which signs some of the biggest international tours in the country.

North American tour and new EP

After his stop in Brazil, Lewis Capaldi returns to the United States for a headlining tour across North America. The run is scheduled to kick off on April 15, 2026, at the Liacouras Center arena in Philadelphia.

The itinerary includes performances at iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York. It will also pass through Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver and Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, among other celebrated stages.

Capaldi recently released the EP “Survive” via Capitol Records, featuring four new tracks. The project brings together “Survive”, “Something In The Heavens”, “Almost” and “The Day That I Die”, marking a more introspective and emotional chapter.

“Almost” and the power of the new songs

The track “Almost” was premiered on Lewis Capaldi’s recent UK arena tour, which sold 250,000 tickets. The shows created moments of moving silence and, by the end of the tour, passionate sing-alongs to the song’s cathartic lyrics.

Driven by acoustic guitar even as the arrangement grows, “Almost” explores what it means to move on, or at least try. In this way, Capaldi once again proves his gift for finding truth and emotion in the smallest details.

The EP “Survive” gathers three monumental tracks released this year alongside “The Day That I Die”. This song is raw and deeply personal, and has been moving fans to tears throughout his recent live shows.

    Hits, Glastonbury and acclaim

More recently, Lewis Capaldi has shared the poignant “Something In The Heavens”, which addresses loss in its many forms. At the same time, the song highlights the flickers of hope that remain, reinforcing the emotional tone of his latest work.

Upon release, “Something In The Heavens” became Capaldi’s tenth single to reach the UK Top 10. Thus, the artist further strengthened his presence on the British charts, adding to an already impressive catalog of hits.

Before that came the EP’s title track, “Survive”, which marked his return after two years away from the spotlight. In June, Capaldi broke the silence with a powerful anthem that reflects a particularly challenging period in his career.

    A defining Glastonbury moment

“Survive” gained even more impact after Lewis Capaldi’s appearance at Glastonbury 2023. In a difficult yet unifying moment, the Pyramid Stage crowd helped the visibly emotional singer finish his set, singing along as one.

Later, the artist returned to Glastonbury for a triumphant surprise set that drew widespread critical praise. Rolling Stone wrote that Capaldi delivered one of the festival’s most emotional moments and described “Survive” as “a powerful, emotional ballad”.

Billboard also praised the performance, calling his comeback “a monumental occasion” and one of the weekend’s standout moments. In doing so, Lewis Capaldi reaffirmed his status on the global pop scene, with a particularly strong live appeal.

    TV performances and in-depth interviews

“Survive” has become the fastest-selling single of the year in the UK and earned Capaldi his sixth UK Singles Chart number one. This achievement places him alongside Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Drake, Lady Gaga and Queen.

The singer performed the track on Good Morning America as part of the “Summer Concert Series”. He then took “Survive” to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he also sat down for an emotional on-air conversation.

Lewis Capaldi has also given a revealing interview on the podcast This Past Weekend with Theo Von. More recently, he visited The Graham Norton Show alongside Taylor Swift, once again charming audiences with his humor and heartfelt songwriting.

Intimate shows, mental health and a new chapter

Before his widely praised Glastonbury set, Capaldi played a series of intimate shows in Scotland in May. The concerts were held in partnership with mental health organization CALM, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Free from pressure and expectations, these performances gave the artist room to assess his comfort and emotional response. This allowed him to prepare more safely for a full return to the spotlight and to large-scale touring.

After weathering a storm for which few could be prepared, Lewis Capaldi now steps into a new era with renewed purpose. He is not just surviving: he is returning stronger than ever, with an open heart and a fresh start ahead.

    About Lewis Capaldi

Lewis Capaldi’s debut album, “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent”, was the UK’s best-selling album in both 2019 and 2020. The record took him from bedroom musician to global superstar, supported by a rapidly growing fan base.

The single “Someone You Loved” earned a GRAMMY® nomination for Song of the Year and won the BRIT Award in the same category. Capaldi also received the BRIT for Best New Artist, cementing his early rise to the top of pop music.

“Someone You Loved” is now the most streamed track in UK chart history and the fourth most streamed globally. The song also topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and has been certified RIAA Diamond, a major milestone in his career.

    Albums, documentary and critical praise

With the album “Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent”, Lewis Capaldi claimed his second UK number one. The project produced three chart-topping singles: “Pointless”, “Wish You The Best” and “Forget Me”.

The 2023 album drew acclaim from outlets including Rolling Stone, The Guardian, NME, GQ, Stereogum and TIME. TIME noted that Capaldi’s talent “pulls at the heartstrings — or rather, rips them out with his full vocal force”.

The New York Times observed that Capaldi has a “devastated cannon of a voice”, used to full effect on songs about heartbreak. As a result, his career has advanced one emotional cry at a time, shaping a powerful artistic identity.

    Documentary and record-breaking numbers

Inspired by the album’s closing track, the documentary “Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now” was released in partnership with Netflix, BMG and Pulse Films. The film went straight to the top of Netflix’s rankings, becoming its most-watched title following release.

The documentary also earned a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Music Film, underscoring its impact. By revealing backstage moments and vulnerabilities, the project brought audiences even closer to the Scottish singer-songwriter.

Over his career, Lewis Capaldi has amassed more than 30 billion combined global streams. He is a two-time BRIT Award winner and two-time GRAMMY® nominee, with a long list of chart records and strong streaming performance.

“Survive” stands as the fastest-selling single in the UK in 2025, adding to his achievements. Capaldi now counts 10 UK Top 10 singles, six of them number ones, and holds records for long-running entries on both singles and albums charts.
