Immersive exhibition opens on November 28 at Centro Cultural Correios with tickets from R$25.

Tickets are officially on sale for one of the most anticipated cultural experiences of the year. Rio de Janeiro will host “Michelangelo: Master of the Sistine Chapel”, the largest immersive exhibition ever presented in Brazil dedicated to the Renaissance master. Starting November 28 at Centro Cultural Correios, visitors will embark on a visually stunning journey through 15 thematic rooms that reveal the mysteries behind masterpieces such as “The Creation of Adam” and the emotional impact of the “Pietà”. Tickets are available on the official website starting at R$25.

15 thematic rooms and immersive technology

The exhibition extends across over 1,000 square meters and brings an innovative approach to Michelangelo’s work through immersive audiovisual environments. Highlights include the Pietà Projection Room, featuring interactive visuals and exclusive content that reveal hidden details and emotional nuances of the monumental sculpture.

An exclusive room dedicated to the Sistine Chapel frescoes offers a large-scale projection experience that unveils meanings, artistic processes and symbolic elements of the iconic ceiling, including the world-famous “Creation of Adam”.

    Art meets innovation

“We are bringing to Rio de Janeiro an exhibition that not only celebrates Michelangelo’s genius, but also redefines how audiences interact with classical art. This is the most extensive immersive showcase of the artist ever produced in Brazil,” says Felipe Pinheiro, Executive Producer of the exhibition.

    Who was Michelangelo

Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475–1564), born in Caprese, Tuscany, was a multifaceted Renaissance artist known for his expertise in sculpture, painting, architecture and poetry. Among his most celebrated works are “David”, “Moses”, “Pietà” and the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel, including “The Creation of Adam” and “The Last Judgment”. His work remains showcased in major museums worldwide, including the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence and the Vatican.

    About the Sistine Chapel frescoes

Between 1508 and 1512, Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling under commission from Pope Julius II. He spent at least a year in preparatory studies, producing sketches to meticulously portray sacred and human figures. The ceiling depicts nine biblical scenes from Genesis, illustrating the creation of the universe and humankind. Today, it is considered one of the greatest artistic achievements in human history.
