The consumption of wines in Brazil has been steadily increasing, even as the global market shows signs of decline. National labels are gaining prominence, winning consumer preference and international recognition, highlighting the technical evolution and quality of Brazilian wine production.

    Regions and Terroirs of Excellence

Regions such as the Serra Gaúcha, Campanha Gaúcha, the Vale dos Vinhedos, the Vale do São Francisco, and high-altitude areas in Santa Catarina have become renowned terroirs. These locations produce reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling wines that cater to diverse palates and showcase the country’s climatic and cultural diversity.

Confidence and Recognition for Brazilian Wines

According to Raphael Zanette, founder of the Vino! wine bar chain, Brazilian consumers have gained confidence in national wines. “Today, we have labels of exceptional quality that are competitive and award-winning. Brazilians have realized they can enjoy excellent wines produced locally, respecting our terroir and climatic diversity,” he states.

This trend is reflected in business growth. Over the past year, Vino! increased its selection of Brazilian wines by 130%, offering more than 100 options. “Our mission is to democratize wine consumption, making it accessible for both everyday enjoyment and special occasions,” adds Zanette.

    Labels Showcasing Brazil’s Diversity

    Highlighted Brazilian wines include:

    • Galópolis: a Chardonnay and Viognier blend from Serra Gaúcha, versatile and aromatic.
    • Santalu Rosé: a Syrah and Merlot blend, young and refreshing.
    • Mula Preta Chardonnay: a dry white with elegance and a distinctive character.
    • Espumante Vino!: an exclusive sparkling wine, suitable for any occasion, awarded Best In Show at Wine South America.
    • 817m: a red blend of Refosco and Marselan grown at altitude, with soft tannins, ideal for meats, cured cheeses, and pasta dishes.

Cultural Shift and Valuing Brazilian Production

This growth represents more than just increased consumption—it reflects a cultural shift that values Brazilian wine production. Specialty bars like Vino! gather dozens of national labels, showcasing producers from different regions and proving that Brazil can compete in the international market.

    About Grupo Vino!

Founded in 2015 with the mission of making wine accessible, Grupo Vino! expanded operations nationwide from 2019 and now has over 60 locations, offering quality wines at affordable prices.
