Fairmont Rio’s Masked Ball brings “Verão Maravilha” Carnival with haute cuisine and Ludmilla show

The Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana will host its traditional Masked Ball – Verão Maravilha, featuring an exclusive menu by chef Jérôme Dardillac, signature cocktails by Cassiano Melo and a special concert by Ludmilla.

    A summer-inspired fine dining experience

Held on February 20, the event revisits the glamour of historic Carnival balls, blending live music with a refined gastronomic journey. Inspired by the Verão Maravilha theme, the chef designed a menu centered on light, fresh ingredients such as fish, seafood, fruits and greens, with contemporary preparations and low-calorie options.

The dinner will be served at themed stations throughout the night. At the Sea & Antipasti Showcase, guests will find salmon ceviche with leche de tigre, tuna crudo with Aperol ponzu and a Grana Padano parmesan wheel. The hot buffet features confit cod, shrimp rice stew and a fragrant hearts-of-palm curry with coconut milk and lemongrass.

Desserts, chocolate art and signature drinks

Desserts include a caipirinha pavlova, chilled cake with pineapple compote and a Belgian chocolate table adorned with artistic sculptures, echoing the tropical sweetness of Rio’s summer. Guests will also enjoy a tropical fruit buffet with mangosteen, rambutan and pitaya, plus a Coa e CO gelato cart.

Behind the bar, mixologist Cassiano Melo crafted a cocktail list inspired by the Verão Maravilha theme. Highlights include the Lillet Spritz (Lillet Blanc, tonic water, orange and thyme), the Gold Rush (The Glenlivet 12-Year whisky, honey syrup and Sicilian lemon) and the signature Verão Maravilha, made with Beefeater 24 gin, pineapple, raspberry, lemon and bitters. The Dancing Queen features Pindorama Prata cachaça, ginger, lemon and Perrier, while Studio 54 combines Absolut vodka, blue curaçao syrup, pineapple and rose water; the alcohol-free Abre Alas mixes tangerine cordial, Sicilian lemon and Perrier.

Studio 54 spirit meets Rio Carnival

The Verão Maravilha concept fuses Rio’s Carnival energy with the daring aesthetics of the legendary Studio 54, the 1977 New York nightclub that became a symbol of fashion, music, art and hedonism. The ball embraces nostalgia, tropical exuberance and Brazilian identity in the heart of Copacabana.

Organized in partnership with Camarote Arpoador, the ball takes place on the Friday before the Champions’ Parade and features Ludmilla on stage, joined by the Grande Rio drum section and guest DJs. Dancer and creator Brunna Gonçalves will be the evening’s muse, highlighting female protagonism and artistic strength at the event.

Guests will also find a tropical fruit and gelato station, plus an After Hours corner serving broths, Fairmont mini cheeseburgers and assorted artisanal pizzas, ensuring energy and comfort until 4 a.m.
