Hilton’s first boutique lifestyle hotel in South America turns five, highlighting local culture, design, and sustainability in São Paulo’s Jardins.
Canopy by Hilton São Paulo Jardins celebrated its fifth anniversary on February 2. The hotel marks a cycle that established it as a lifestyle and culture hub in São Paulo. In addition, the concept connects travelers and locals to the identity of the Jardins neighborhood.
Positioned as Hilton’s first boutique lifestyle hotel in South America, Canopy Jardins operates in a retrofit of the historic Edifício Stella, built in the 1960s. The design draws from Brutalism and references such as Lina Bo Bardi and Paulo Mendes da Rocha. In this way, the project pays tribute to São Paulo’s architectural legacy.
A sensory experience and dining
From arrival, the hotel proposes a sensory immersion. The experience includes a signature scent, an in-house radio, and tactile art elements. Next, the journey culminates at Stella Restaurant, named after the building that houses the hotel.
“These five years have been a journey of learning and, above all, consolidation,” says Francisco Sollari Allegro, General Manager of Canopy by Hilton São Paulo Jardins. “We arrived with the proposal of being a natural extension of the neighborhood, and seeing how São Paulo residents and travelers embraced our concept is our greatest achievement. We overcame challenges, innovated in gastronomy through projects, and turned our spaces into a living art gallery. Our focus for the next five years is to deepen this connection even further and continue to surprise with experiences that reflect the soul of São Paulo.”
Over its five-year trajectory, the hotel stood out for memorable activations and a dining program positioned as a destination. Stella Restaurant is now a meeting point in Jardins for both guests and locals. As a result, the venue supports the hotel’s sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere.
Sustainability and social responsibility
Canopy Jardins also highlights sustainability initiatives. These include rainwater reuse, solar panels, and a Nespresso capsule collection point for recycling. In addition, the hotel points to year-round social responsibility actions.
One of the initiatives is AUmastê, which connects wellness with responsible dog adoption. The event combines a 50-minute yoga class with adoptable dogs. As a result of past editions, the hotel reports donating approximately 2,500 kg of pet food to partner NGOs.
