Historic Aviation Record
The ANAC released data confirming 2025 as Brazil’s best year for international aviation. Total outbound and inbound traffic hit 25.8 million passengers. This exceeds 2024’s full-year total by 3%.
South America leads as the top destination. It grew 19.6% over 2024. Moreover, it already surpasses last year’s full regional total by 8.7%.
Reaching November already surpassing all of 2024 is extraordinary.
Minister Silvio Costa Filho highlighted the economic boom. He also stressed Brazil’s reconnection to the world.
Mercosur Preference Surge
Brazilians flew 5.2 million passengers to South America. Meanwhile, Europe saw 4 million with 9.6% growth. North America recorded 2.4 million, up 7%.
Argentina tops the list with 4.3 million passengers. Chile follows with 3.1 million. Together, they account for over 70% of regional traffic.
Colombia (873K), Peru (820K), and Uruguay (663K) rank next. Thus, regional integration boosts tourism.
By expanding South America connectivity, we have a larger network serving more locations.
Secretary Daniel Longo credits a recovered air network. He notes the stable regulatory environment.
Exponential Growth
2025 South American traffic is 17 times higher than 2021. That year saw just 605,714 passengers amid the pandemic. Then, 2022 hit 4 million, 2023 reached 6.9 million, and 2024 totaled 8.7 million.
Therefore, Brazil’s aviation sector breaks historical barriers. In the end, data confirm a strong recovery.
