Rio Réveillon 2026 draws 5.1 million to 13 stages, featuring 1,200-drone show and 12-minute fireworks on Copacabana, certified world’s largest by Guinness.
Unprecedented Show in Copacabana
The event gathered 5.1 million attendees. Guinness World Records certified it as the world’s largest New Year’s Eve. In Copacabana, 19 barges launched 12 minutes of fireworks.
Visual effects captivated crowds. Colors and shapes lit the sky. A custom soundtrack heightened the thrill.
Moreover, 1,200 drones staged an aerial ballet. Images of Sugarloaf and Christ the Redeemer honored the city. A giant human face then greeted the new year.
Musical Highlights at Palco Rio
At Palco Rio, DJ Cady kicked off the night. Gilberto Gil performed his Tempo Rei tour. He then joined Ney Matogrosso for hits like “Se eu quiser falar com Deus”.
Ney Matogrosso energized fans with “Pro dia nascer feliz” and “Balada do Louco”. Belo invited “godmother” Alcione, who delivered “Você me vira a cabeça” and “Não deixe o samba morrer”.
Post-fireworks, João Gomes took the stage. He brought Iza for “Lembrei de nós” and “Anunciação”. Thus, Iza shone in “Fé”.
Alok’s Performance and Finale
Alok thrilled 2.5 million on Copacabana. LED lights, smoke, and fireworks amplified the set. Yet drones stole the show with Rio icons.
He played “Hear me now” with Bruno Martini. The “rave Copa” turned the beach into a dance floor. Finally, G.R.E.S. Beija-Flor closed the night.
Stages Across Neighborhoods
Palco Samba Amstel featured Roberta Sá, Mart’nália, Diogo Nogueira, and Feyjão. Bloco da Preta and G.R.E.S. Grande Rio kept samba pulsing.
Meanwhile, Palco Leme Banco do Brasil hosted gospel. Midian Lima, Samuel Messias, Thalles Roberto, and Grupo Marcados praised faith.
Neighborhoods like Flamengo and Ramos had stages too. This made the event democratic and widespread.
Sustainability Focus
The edition emphasized ESG practices. Waste management and carbon offsetting stood out. It also offered Libras and PCD accessibility.
SRCOM produced it for the 18th year. Presented by Ministry of Culture and Petrobras, it had sponsors like Banco do Brasil and Betano. TV Globo broadcast live.
