New upscale Sais Beach Living Hotel in Pajuçara already employs 128 people, plans to reach 270 staff and invests in training and career growth.

Maceió’s hotel sector on the rise

Ranked second nationally on Omnibees among cities with the best hotel performance and a leading destination in the Northeast, Maceió (AL) has become one of Brazil’s most profitable tourism hubs. The city combines high booking volumes with a growing focus on guest experience. In this environment, each new hotel opening fuels the local economy and generates jobs.

Located on Pajuçara Beach, one of Maceió’s main postcards, the Sais Beach Living Hotel arrives as an upscale development reinforcing this growth. Construction involved 96 direct workers and more than 150 indirect jobs. Now in operation, the hotel employs 128 direct staff and plans to reach 270 by December, not counting indirect positions connected to tourism.

    Job creation and open positions

The hiring process is ongoing, with openings for waiters/waitresses, kitchen assistants, garde manger professionals, cooks, housekeepers, receptionists and recreation staff. The economic impact extends beyond the hotel itself, as tourism is known to drive more than 50 other services, including events, transport and tour operations. In practice, each new hotel multiplies opportunities across the region.

The Sais Beach Living Hotel is operated by Grupo Augis, a tourism hub specialized in managing and operating hotels in Maceió. The group’s portfolio includes three other properties, as well as Vivari Beach Club in Ipioca. The company traditionally prioritizes local labor and long-term relationships based on continuous training and internal promotion policies.

Training, career paths and social impact

For Grupo Augis, investing in staff qualification improves employees’ quality of life and that of their families. At the same time, it helps raise the destination’s standards and the overall tourism offer. Better-qualified teams tend to attract visitors with higher average spending, boosting municipal revenue.

“Maceió greatly benefits from the hotel sector’s concern with helping the city evolve and become more open to welcoming visitors. When this happens, society as a whole changes. When we train an employee, they can apply that knowledge at home. This is hospitality spreading beyond the workplace,” says Lenierson Austrilino, one of Grupo Augis’ partners.

He adds that training staff for an upscale hotel such as Sais Beach also upgrades the destination and the tourist profile. The city becomes better prepared to receive guests with higher purchasing power. In this sense, professional development is seen as a strategic investment in Maceió’s future.

    Benefits and internal promotion stories

Employees at Sais Beach Living Hotel receive a R$ 250 meal voucher, which can be used at supermarkets and pharmacies. They also have access to meals on-site, including breakfast, lunch and dinner depending on their shift, which helps them save part of the voucher. A health plan is available as an optional benefit, with partial contribution from the company.

Internal promotion is a key element of Grupo Augis’ HR policy. One example is Alyne Rhiane, who has been with the company for 14 years, since the hub was created. She started as a receptionist and was gradually promoted to floor supervisor, front desk supervisor and operations coordinator. In 2020, she became manager of Verano Tropicalis and, in 2025, took over Slim Tropicalis.

Currently, 50% of the group’s staff have been with the company for more than five years. For Lenierson, this is a sign that the management approach is working. “It proves we are on the right track. We feel we have failed when we lose an employee because they did not perceive, or we could not convey, the idea that work is actually a growth journey,” he says.

Architecture with panoramic views and coastal design

The Sais Beach Living Hotel offers 324 apartments, including 63 highly personalized units and three penthouse suites. One of its main attractions is the panoramic rooftop, overlooking the beaches of Pajuçara and Ponta Verde. Thanks to its 360-degree design, guests can enjoy both sunrise and sunset from the same spot.

The hotel features sea-facing pools and lounge areas with sofas and armchairs surrounded by greenery. The innovative and imposing architectural concept was created by architect Humberta Farias. At first glance, the large canopy on the main façade stands out as a sculptural design element connecting the building to its surroundings.

Inside, a spacious lobby with high ceilings and a tropical garden welcomes guests and creates an immediate sense of comfort. The design aims to combine visual impact with a warm atmosphere. As a result, Sais Beach positions itself as a new benchmark in Maceió’s upscale hospitality scene.

    Cuisine as a cultural experience

The hotel’s gastronomic proposal is another highlight. Led by award-winning chef Wanderson Medeiros, known nationally as Picuí, the culinary project seeks to offer more than just meals. The idea is to create a cultural experience, connecting regional flavors with storytelling and contemporary tourism trends.

Inspired by the concept of “salt” – the element that gives the hotel its name and has long served as a symbol of exchange, preservation and identity – the menu builds bridges between history and modernity. In doing so, the Sais Beach Living Hotel uses gastronomy as a central pillar of its guest experience.
