Brazilian icon Carlinhos Brown releases the new single “Primeiro Amor Primeiro”, featuring Simone, an uplifting track poised to become a Carnival 2026 anthem.
Celebrating first love at any stage of life
One of the leading names in Axé Music, which celebrates 40 years in 2025, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Carlinhos Brown returns with a fresh, authorial single. “Primeiro Amor Primeiro” hits digital platforms on December 5, bringing Simone as a special guest.
Upbeat and danceable, the song celebrates a love that can appear at any moment in life and still feel like the very first. With it, Brown introduces the new sounds of summer and reinforces his talent for crafting soundtracks for Brazil’s Carnival season.
A duet born from Simone’s 50-year career celebration
Brown describes “Primeiro Amor Primeiro” as a way to honor a love that moves him deeply, one that can be born or reborn at any age. That feeling guided his invitation to Simone to share the vocals.
Simone recalls that the partnership began during her 50th anniversary concert in Salvador, when she invited Brown to perform with her. He arrived with his guitar, sang the song and, from the first chords, she connected with it. The melody stayed with her until, in 2025, she called Brown with a sense of urgency to finally record it as a duet.
First live performance at Sarau du Brown
The song was premiered live on November 23 at Sarau du Brown, in Salvador. The event, held at Candyall Guetho Square — the cultural venue created by Brown in 1996 in the Candeal neighborhood and recently renovated — featured Simone as a special guest.
For Brown, “Primeiro Amor Primeiro” embodies a Carnival that goes beyond seven days, staying in the hearts of those who love and celebrate their partners with the gratitude of a first love that never fades.
Strong musical crew and refined arrangements
Brown invited renowned musician Jaques Morelenbaum to write the string arrangements and shared overall music production with Thiago Pugas, who also handled recording, mixing and mastering. Brown’s son Miguel Freitas plays drums, with Jaguar Andrade on guitar solos.
The track was recorded in October 2025 at Ilha dos Sapos Studio in Salvador and features a strong band with bass, brass, keyboards, strings and backing vocals, enhancing the rhythmic energy and emotional depth of the song.
