Denza opens first Rio dealership and leads premium sales

BYD’s premium brand opens store in Barra da Tijuca and quickly becomes one of Rio’s top luxury car sellers.

Expansion milestone in Brazil

Denza opened its first dealership in Rio de Janeiro, located at Avenida das Américas, 707, in Barra da Tijuca. The event was attended by Stella Li, Executive Vice President and CEO of BYD Americas and Europe, marking the brand’s debut in the city.

Managed by Grupo AGO, the dealership had already been operating under a soft opening since February. Despite this, Denza reached the 4th position among premium brands in Rio, surpassing Porsche, Audi, Volvo, and Lexus.

Strong results and flagship model

With only the B5 SUV available for now, Denza registered 124 units sold in February, ranking 7th nationally within the premium segment. Stella Li emphasized that local demand has exceeded expectations and reflects strong brand potential.

“Brazilians have embraced our contemporary automotive vision. Denza combines elegance with advanced technology,” said Stella Li.

Luxury matched with innovation

The Denza B5 features all-wheel drive, three differential locks, and DiSus-P active suspension. With 686 hp, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches up to 1,200 km of range.

Next, the brand will introduce the Denza Z9 GT, first delivered to racing driver Felipe Massa. The model includes Crab Walk and Auto Parking systems, highlighting its technological appeal.

Partnership with Grupo AGO

Founded in 1954, Grupo AGO invested around R$10 million in the project. The 2,000 m² showroom includes one of the city’s most advanced retail environments, designed to elevate the customer experience.

“We chose Denza for its strong focus on innovation and sophistication,” said Isaac Nachbar, Grupo AGO’s director.

During the ceremony, singer Mumuzinho was named Denza Rio’s brand ambassador and received a B5 model, performing live for invited guests.

BYD strengthens local presence

That same week, BYD announced a R$300 million Automotive Testing and Research Center at Rio’s Galeão Airport. Covering 183,000 m², it will serve as a platform for electric vehicle testing and development.

According to Stella Li, the new site strengthens Brazil’s role in BYD’s global operations and marks another step toward sustainable mobility.
