Embaixadores da Alegria opens the Champions Parade with sign language interpreters and inclusion of people with disabilities.

An opening of inclusion and representation

The Champions Parade on Saturday, February 21, at the Marquês de Sapucaí Sambadrome, will open with a celebration of diversity and citizenship. The Embaixadores da Alegria samba school will officially start the night, bringing together performers with and without disabilities to highlight an accessible and inclusive Carnival.

Recognized as the world’s first samba school focused on inclusion, the group promotes integration and visibility for people with physical, intellectual, visual, hearing and multiple disabilities. The theme samba “20 Years of Joy Opening the Wings to Diversity” was created by Pretinho da Serrinha and Fred Camacho.

    Accessibility in sign language

Accessibility will also be part of the parade through the work of ALL DUB ESTÚDIO, which will provide sign language interpreters throughout the presentation. This initiative ensures culture and entertainment are accessible to everyone.

“Our goal is to ensure the right to culture and promote a more democratic, sensorial and inclusive carnival experience,” said Ana Motta, CEO of ALL DUB ESTÚDIO.

During the performance, one interpreter will follow the lead singer translating the samba live, while another will be among the wings, expanding communication with the public and deaf participants.

    Accessibility services at Carnival

Accessibility services remain available in Sector 13 of Sapucaí, with special support for visually and hearing impaired spectators and other specific needs. Among the highlights is the sensory vest, allowing deaf participants to feel the rhythm of samba through vibrations.

This initiative strengthens access to Brazil’s greatest popular celebration, ensuring autonomy, safety, and inclusion for all.
