Wine Trader opens exclusive pre-sale for Menin 80-year Port

Wine Trader will pre-sell 20 bottles of Menin Porto 80 Anos, in Tawny and White 500 ml versions, priced at R$ 20,000.

Wine Trader has announced an exclusive pre-sale of 20 bottles of an 80-year-aged Port wine. The labels come from Menin Douro Estates’ historical reserves. They arrive in Brazil in late January with a suggested price of R$ 20,000.

The allocation will be offered through Menin Wine’s dedicated store within the marketplace. In addition, the 20 bottles account for 15% of the global production released by the Portuguese winery in September. The offer targets collectors and buyers seeking rare bottles.

Origin, aging, and tasting profile

Menin Porto 80 Anos is made from wines selected across eight decades and aged in cask in the Douro. A deep amber tone points to aromas of salted caramel, spices, dried fruits, and candied citrus notes. On the palate, it shows a silky texture, precise acidity, and a long finish.

“An 80-year-aged Port goes beyond the idea of a beverage and becomes liquid heritage. These labels condense time, memory, and rarity in their purest form. For Wine Trader, offering this kind of jewel means connecting major producers with collectors who seek history, legitimacy, and unrepeatable experiences,” says Paulo Cesar Alkimin, partner at Wine Trader.

Two 500 ml versions

The release arrives in two 500 ml versions. The 80-year Tawny shows a deep amber tone with aromas of salted caramel, spices, nutmeg, and candied orange. Next, it stands out for its silky mouthfeel, balanced acidity, and extended finish.

The 80-year White, described as even rarer, comes primarily from Baixo Corgo, the first sub-region to produce wines in the demarcated Douro. It delivers notes of citrus peel, aged white tea, dried flowers, and a light saline touch. In this way, the winery frames a refined, intriguing profile.

Serving guidance and sales model

“These wines deserve to be tasted without food pairing, at 12°C, as a true contemplation experience,” advises Tiago Alves de Souza, consulting winemaker for Menin Wines.

The bottles allocated to Brazil will be sold primarily to customers with a strong purchase history at Wine Trader. As a result, the marketplace reinforces its curated approach. Deliveries are expected in mid-March after the pre-sale window.

Luxury wine market context

The arrival of the historic Port also signals a shift in the luxury wine market. Specialized marketplaces are gaining relevance as direct bridges between iconic producers and highly qualified consumers. In addition, Wine Trader says it brings together cellar releases, ultra-limited editions, and authorial projects outside the mainstream circuit.

According to the material, Wine Trader positions wine as cultural heritage and a complete sensory experience. Finally, Menin Porto Tawny 80 Anos is described as a celebration of patience, memory, and excellence preserved for decades in Douro cellars.
