On February 1, Baleia Rio’s highlights a full-moon evening at Flamengo’s Aterro, with open views and summer menu additions by chef Bruno Barros.
On February 1, during a full-moon night, more locals have embraced moon watching in Rio. At Baleia Rio’s, the setting stands out at Aterro do Flamengo. In addition, the restaurant offers an unobstructed panorama.
With no visual interference, guests can watch the moon descend over the sea and light up the city. Meanwhile, the experience is paired with a Mediterranean menu led by chef Bruno Barros. The kitchen has introduced summer-forward additions.
Limited-time summer additions
For a limited time during summer, the chef serves fresh oysters for R$68, with six pieces. They come with caviar, pickles, red onion, and salsa-infused olive oil. In this way, the dish emphasizes clean, coastal flavors.
Another new item is the lobster tartare for R$149. The lobster is cooked sous vide and cut into cubes. Then, it is seasoned with ginger and other condiments.
The preparation is finished with a light Sicilian lemon aioli and served with toast. In addition, the starters now include Bocaditos de Pescado for R$79. The plate features breaded fresh sea bass and lemon aioli.
Main course inspired by Santorini
Among the mains, the new Robalo Santorini costs R$148. It is served with toasted Sardinian fregola, fresh tomato, jamón, and basil. Thus, the recipe highlights a rustic pasta typical of the island.
With the moon reflecting on Guanabara Bay, the proposal connects scenery and cuisine. In this way, Baleia Rio’s leans into summer atmosphere for a distinctive evening. Finally, the restaurant reinforces its outdoor experience at the Aterro waterfront.
