Common hangover symptoms

 

  Alcohol causes headaches, nausea and fatigue. It dehydrates and affects the body. Moreover, triggers systemic inflammation.

 

  Leandro Figueiredo, from Instituto Nutrindo Ideais, explains the process. Ethanol turns into toxic acetaldehyde. Thus, activates pro-inflammatory cytokines.

   

Hydration as priority

 

  Drink one glass of water per alcohol dose. After, choose coconut water and natural isotonic drinks. They replenish sodium and potassium.

 

  Add salt and lemon to water if needed. Meanwhile, avoid excessive dehydration. On the other hand, it inhibits antidiuretic hormone.

   

Liver recovery foods

 

  Banana restores lost potassium. Eggs break acetaldehyde with cysteine. Light broths ease digestion and minerals.

 

  These stabilize blood sugar. However, combat post-alcohol hypoglycemia. Thus, speed up liver detoxification.

   

Recommended detox juices

 

  Watermelon, ginger and mint: Blend 2 cups watermelon, grated ginger and mint. Rich in lycopene and anti-inflammatories.
