Emanuelle Araújo and Lan Lanh lead Bahian samba party on Dec 27 in Copacabana, featuring hits and Clara Nunes tribute.
Bahian samba in Copacabana
Moinho Band brings its samba to Blue Note Copacabana for a major pre-New Year’s bash on December 27. Emanuelle Araújo and Lan Lanh, the Bahian wing of the group, blend wheel samba and chula with Bahia’s signature swing.
Joined by Rio guitarist Toni Costa, the trio honors roots linking samba and pop. Thus, they distort the guitar on “Aquele Abraço” to salute Gilberto Gil, infusing Brazilian fusion flavor.
Setlist with classics and surprises
The lineup features hits like “Esnoba”, “Ela Briga Comigo” and “Hoje de Noite” by Nando Reis. In addition, they reinterpret Dorival Caymmi gems such as “Samba da Minha Terra” and “Moinho da Bahia”.
Fresh from the emotion of the Clara Nunes musical starring Emanuelle Araújo, the group promises stage surprises. Meanwhile, they preserve nearly 20 years of road experience, rooted in Lapa nights.
Legacy and sound identity
Gilberto Gil proclaimed on this stage: “Moinho is samba under pressure”. That mark resonates in the trio’s Bahian-Rio DNA, uniting diverse musical streams.
The chemistry between Lan Lanh, Emanuelle Araújo, and Toni Costa fuels the sonic party. At the same time, the show embraces improvisation, joy, and open doors to friends.
