Circuito Fairmont crowns Best of the Year in Rio

  Ceremony honored the champions of the 13th Fairmont Beach Tennis Circuit season at the Fairmont Hotel in Rio de Janeiro.

  The Fairmont Hotel hosted the Best of the Year Award Ceremony of the Fairmont Beach Tennis Circuit, wrapping up its 13th season organized by ABTERJ. It remains the longest-running circuit in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

 

  The event recognized the Kings and Queens of the Copacabana stage and the top players in Open, B, C, and D categories, including Men’s, Women’s, Mixed Doubles, Master 40+, 50+, and Singles. The Rumo ao Topo category also honored players promoted to higher divisions.

   

Players and statements

 

  This season featured ten regular stages and more than three thousand athletes. Bruno Tosta, from Vidigal and Beach Tennis instructor at ABTERJ courts, won his third consecutive Open Singles title.

   

“I’m very happy. It’s another achievement. I’ve been focusing more on Singles lately,” said Bruno Tosta.

 

  ABTERJ President José Araújo highlighted the importance of partnerships with Fairmont Rio, the City Hall, and the Sports and Leisure Department, emphasizing their role in the season’s success and the final celebration.

   

Partnership and community impact

 

  Representing Secretary Guilherme Schleder, Gabriel Leal, local executive manager at Lagoa, emphasized the positive effect of sports on public health and social engagement. He pointed out that investments in sports bring economic and social returns to the community.

 

  He also reaffirmed the commitment of Mayor Eduardo Paes and the City of Rio to continue supporting Beach Tennis and similar sports initiatives.

   

2026 schedule and upcoming events

 

  The awarded athletes will compete in the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Cup in Saquarema on January 17–18, followed by the State Cup in Copacabana from January 23–25.

 

  The 2026 calendar was also announced, setting the start of the 14th season with the first stage on February 7–8, followed by events on March 14–15 and April 18–19.

 

  The circuit is sponsored by Fairmont Rio and supported by Trem do Corcovado, AI Beach Tennis, Rio City Hall, and SMEL. It is organized by ABTERJ.
