Botafogo Praia Shopping offers five restaurants with Sugarloaf Mountain views to celebrate New Year’s Eve ahead of 31 December.
An ideal spot to toast before New Year’s Eve
Located in the heart of Botafogo, Botafogo Praia Shopping is an ideal destination to celebrate the turn of the year with friends before New Year’s Eve. The mall boasts a privileged view of Sugarloaf Mountain and the Christmas tree at Enseada de Botafogo.
The complex offers multiple options for different budgets and tastes, with five highlighted restaurants. Thus, visitors can enjoy cold draft beer, snacks, artisanal pizza, Italian, French, Portuguese and Japanese cuisine in one place.
In December, Botafogo Praia Shopping operates with extended hours. Restaurants are open from Monday to Saturday, from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., and on Sundays, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
On December 24, opening hours are from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., with optional opening on the 25th and on January 1. On December 31, restaurants open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., ideal for early New Year’s toasts.
Brewteco: craft beer and postcard views
Known for its wide selection of craft beers, Brewteco brings together everything cariocas love. The bar combines a relaxed atmosphere, cold draft beer and a varied snack menu.
The Botafogo Praia Shopping unit is the only one with a view of Enseada de Botafogo and Sugarloaf Mountain. In addition, guests can access the Terraço Botafogo for free, right next to Brewteco, with a special seasonal activation.
Highlights include the Buraco Quente (R$ 54), a sandwich filled with beef ribs and cream cheese, served with fries. Another popular choice is the portion of coxinhas saradas (R$ 38), breaded in panko flour.
For lunch, the suggestion is the parrilla and ancho combo (R$ 224), ideal to share between two people. The bar also offers a dedicated menu for groups looking to host gatherings on site.

Amélie Crêperie: French charm with Rio’s skyline
With a cosy atmosphere and French charm, Amélie Crêperie is perfect for celebrating special moments with friends. The new executive menu, launched in December, offers combinations for different occasions.
To start, one of the highlights is the Canastra cheese cream served with tomato jam and buckwheat toast. For the main course, the sweet potato gnocchi with diced filet mignon in a mild gorgonzola sauce, walnut crumble and confit onions balances flavour and texture.
To finish, the Cocada with Maria Mole and passion fruit sauce adds freshness and a Brazilian touch. A glass of house wine is suggested to pair elegantly with each stage of the menu.
Prices for the executive menu vary according to the combinations and must be checked directly at the restaurant. This allows guests to tailor the experience to their preferences.

Mamma Jamma: artisanal pizzas and Christmas desserts
Mamma Jamma is a great choice for those seeking an intimate and sophisticated atmosphere. The house specialises in artisanal pizzas and Italian dishes paired with wines and signature drinks.
For the festive season, the restaurant has prepared a special Christmas dessert menu. The traditional Rabanada Di Natale pizza (R$ 45) returns with a white chocolate topping.
Another dessert is the Panetonne al Forno con Gelato di Crema (R$ 36.50), baked with chocolate, topped with Italian meringue and served with vanilla ice cream, chocolate shavings and sauce. As a main dish, the house serves Gnocchi di Baccalà (R$ 36.50), with buttered cod, gorgonzola and herb crumble.
The Christmas menu is available until January 6. Therefore, guests can extend their holiday celebrations into the new year.

Sardinha Taberna Portuguesa: a taste of Portugal
Sardinha Taberna Portuguesa is ideal for those seeking sophistication and Portuguese cuisine. The restaurant serves classic dishes against the backdrop of Rio’s landscape.
From Monday to Friday (except holidays), during Happy Hour (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.), all alcoholic drinks are 30% off. The benefit does not combine with other promotions.
For Christmas dinner, the house takes orders for rabanadas, codfish cakes and the traditional Bacalhau Gomes de Sá until December 23. Prices vary according to portion size.
At the restaurant, these dishes can also be enjoyed on site for R$ 32.90, R$ 25.90 and R$ 199.90, respectively. Guests may choose between dining in or taking the dishes home.

Hatch: Japanese cuisine and signature cocktails
For Japanese food lovers, Hatch combines sophisticated dishes and signature cocktails. The elegant, minimalist setting features a sushi bar in full view and details inspired by Japanese aesthetics.
To open the celebration, the house suggests the Hatch Rock Roll (R$ 68), made with salmon, cream cheese, spring onions, tare cream and pop rock. Next, the chef recommends the 30-piece combo (R$ 300), perfect for sharing among friends.
Another main option is the Hatch Soba (R$ 85), Japanese noodles with mushrooms and sautéed prawns in the house sauce. To pair, the signature cocktail Akai Zakuro (R$ 35) combines limoncello, pomegranate reduction, amarena and strawberry caviar.
Among the non-alcoholic options, the Lara Mora (R$ 22) blends orange juice and strawberry purée. Thus, the menu caters both to cocktail enthusiasts and those who prefer mocktails.
