Sheraton Grand Rio hosts 2026 New Year’s Eve with live band, gourmet buffet by chef Ataniel Sousa and fireworks over Leblon beach.
A seaside New Year’s Eve with live music
The Sheraton Grand Rio Hotel & Resort is preparing a refined 2026 New Year’s Eve celebration at the Salão Carioca, in Leblon. The party includes a live band, a special buffet signed by executive chef Ataniel Sousa and fireworks with ocean views. In this way, the hotel combines fine dining and a festive atmosphere right by the beach.
The event takes place on December 31, from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., offering a full night experience. At midnight, guests toast the arrival of 2026 with sparkling wine while watching the fireworks display. Afterwards, the celebration continues into the early hours with music and dancing.
Cold stations, antipasti and seafood
The menu showcases sophisticated cuisine, starting with a cold station filled with elaborate salads and fresh ingredients. Highlights include burrata caprese with heirloom tomatoes and Moroccan couscous with figs and lavender honey. These combinations emphasize freshness, contrast and refined flavors.
An antipasti table and a selection of smoked fish and seafood further elevate the experience. Guests can taste black angus carpaccio, vitello tonnato, salmon marinated in Nordic spices, poached lobster and sea bass ceviche. There is also a dedicated station of sushi and temaki, adding a Japanese touch to the night.
The first part of the buffet is completed by an elegant display of artisan breads, fine cheeses, premium cold cuts and house-made jams. A mix of dried fruits and nuts rounds out the pairings. Thus, guests can compose their own tasting plates throughout the evening.
Hot dishes, prime cuts and live cooking
The hot station features recipes prepared with meticulous technique and high-quality ingredients. Among the main dishes are asparagus risotto, shrimp risotto, handmade lobster ravioli with bisque sauce and confit codfish. The variety caters to different tastes without losing the fine-dining concept.
Meat lovers find options such as duck magret, herb-crusted rack of lamb and tournedos with green peppercorn sauce. A show cooking station serves noble cuts prepared on the spot, including lamb leg, angus prime rib and slow-roasted porchetta. Guests can watch the preparations and receive the meats cooked to their preference.
Dessert station with classics and signature sweets
The dessert station brings together international patisserie classics and chef’s creations. Among them are vanilla mille-feuille, tiramisu, opera cake and pavlova. Presentation and flavor are designed to crown the meal in style.
The buffet also features raspberry and lemon entremets, assorted verrines, plus macarons, truffles and chocolates. This assortment provides different textures and flavor intensities to finish the evening. The idea is to turn dessert into a highlight of the experience.
Fireworks over Leblon and dance floor with Banda Rag
At midnight, fireworks over Leblon beach light up the sky while guests raise their glasses. The privileged view from Sheraton Grand Rio enhances the postcard-worthy scenery of Rio’s coastline. Thus, the arrival of 2026 is celebrated in a cinematic setting.
After the countdown, Banda Rag takes over the dance floor with an eclectic setlist. The band plays classics of MPB, rock, samba and Brazilian pop, along with the main hits of the year. The performance keeps the party going until 3 a.m., with plenty of dancing and celebration.
