Cardin launches Bolo and Rosca de Reis with dried fruits and São Bento medal, available from 4 January in stores and online.
Portuguese tradition on the Brazilian table
Introduced in Brazil by the Portuguese during the colonial period, King’s Day on 6 January has become an important cultural date. It recalls the biblical story of the Three Wise Men visiting baby Jesus. To celebrate this occasion, Cardin is launching two seasonal products full of flavor and symbolism.
From 4 January, the brand’s stores and website will offer the classic Bolo de Reis and the traditional Rosca de Reis. Both recipes highlight dried fruits, nuts and festive toppings. In this way, Cardin reinforces emotional memories associated with the start of the year.
Bolo de Reis with São Bento medal
The Cardin Bolo de Reis (R$ 80) is made with a soft dough filled with candied fruits and raisins. Hidden inside is a São Bento medal, a traditional symbol said to bring good luck to whoever finds it in their slice. The detail adds a playful and affective touch to the dessert.
The topping features fondant, raisins, dried apricots, candied fruits and walnuts, creating a rich mix of flavors and textures. The cake is designed to be shared around the table during family gatherings. Cardin combines religious tradition, affection and bakery craftsmanship in a single product.
Rosca de Reis with cream filling
The traditional Rosca de Reis (R$ 80) is another highlight of the King’s Day line. Cardin’s version uses a soft dough filled with crème pâtissière and a mix of candied fruits. The result is a generous, festive pastry.
The rosca is finished with fondant, raisins, dried apricots, candied fruits and walnuts, mirroring the flavor profile of the Bolo de Reis. It also includes a São Bento medal inside. The search for the medal turns serving into a fun and symbolic moment.
