Information Society, Thea Austin (SNAP!) and Noel bring a 90s dance marathon to Qualistage, in Rio, on December 12.
Three dance music legends on one stage
BGPRO – Bumerangue Produções announces an unprecedented meeting that unites Information Society, Thea Austin (SNAP!) and Noel in one night. In addition, the project takes the best of 90s dance music to five major Brazilian capitals in December.
The triple bill, with three full shows in sequence, will visit Porto Alegre, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba and Belo Horizonte. Thus, audiences can relive the golden era of the dancefloor in a single event.
Information Society: synthpop pioneers
Icons of global synthpop, New York band Information Society pioneered the blend of sound, visuals and technology. With cyberpunk aesthetics and lyrics that mix emotion and intelligence, the group created anthems such as “What’s on Your Mind (Pure Energy)”, “Walking Away”, “Running”, “Think” and “Repetition”.
In January 1991, the band made history at Rock in Rio II, sharing the stage with Prince, George Michael and Guns N’ Roses. That night, they turned Maracanã into a futuristic rave, thrilling 110,000 people.
Since then, Information Society has returned to Brazil several times, always drawing devoted crowds. Therefore, the group established a lasting pop-techno following that spans generations.
Thea Austin revives SNAP! classics
Singer Thea Austin, the legendary voice of SNAP!, immortalized the global hit “Rhythm Is a Dancer”. She also brings a powerful set of tracks that shaped 90s electronic music, including “The Power”, “Exterminate”, “Colour of Love” and “Ooops Up”.
With memorable performances at clubs and festivals in São Paulo and Rio during the 2000s, she built a strong bond with Brazilian audiences. Now, she returns with a full live show, band and choreography, in her most ambitious presentation in Brazil so far.
Noel and the romantic side of freestyle
Singer Noel embodies the peak of freestyle, a style that ruled radios and dancefloors from the late 80s into the early 90s. His megahit “Silent Morning” became an instant classic in Brazil and remains a staple at flashback parties and radio shows.
For this tour, Noel promises an intense, emotional performance, filled with the romance that defines true freestyle. The audience can expect to sing along to “Like a Child”, “Out of Time” and “Change”.
A time-travel journey through 90s dancefloors
Each artist will perform a full concert, delivering over three hours of live music with impactful visual effects. In this way, the event recreates the vibrant atmosphere of the 90s dance era.
The audience will relive or discover key anthems that crossed generations, supported by special stage design. Moreover, the concept is to promote a collective celebration that connects memories, emotions and different age groups.
The project was designed to be more than just a show: it is an invitation to celebrate encounters and shared stories. Each city will host a unique night, with three major performances and the spirit of a magical decade.
