Timothée Chalamet and Gabriel Medina share surf night in SP

Timothée Chalamet visits Beyond The Club’s wave pool in São Paulo for a special night with Gabriel Medina, cinema, sport and culture.

Special night in a wave pool

Actor Timothée Chalamet enjoyed an unusual night on Thursday, December 4, at the beach of Beyond The Club in São Paulo. The venue houses the world’s largest Wavegarden wave pool. In addition, the Hollywood star was joined by three-time world champion and Olympic medalist Gabriel Medina and director Josh Safdie.     The meeting took place before an exclusive preview screening of a scene from the film “Marty Supreme” at BTG Pactual Hall, the theater within the club complex. In this way, the evening brought together entertainment, sport and cinema in the same setting. The atmosphere highlighted the multifaceted concept of the project.

Guided tour and club experience

Before the film presentation, which opens in Brazilian cinemas in January, Medina led Chalamet on a walk along the artificial beach. The surfer showed the different areas of the club and shared details about how the venue operates. The property started its soft opening for members on November 28.     The tour was light and relaxed, with comments about the unique structure of the space. Thus, the visit reinforced the immersive experience that Beyond The Club proposes. The interaction also brought the Hollywood star closer to Brazil’s surfing and action sports culture.

Connecting film narrative and sport

The exchange between the two created a spontaneous connection between the world of sport and the film’s storyline. The feature addresses themes such as discipline, overcoming limits and the pursuit of excellence. These topics are also part of the daily life of high-performance athletes, which made the dialogue even more natural.     The moment resulted in relaxed photos and videos, becoming one of the highlights of the actor’s stay in Brazil. The records emphasized a behind-the-scenes feel, focused on proximity and authenticity. Moreover, they showcased the club as a stage for unique encounters.
“It was really cool having Timothée here, especially because he is playing a character going through an intense evolution. In surfing, we live that all the time, so the conversation flowed naturally. He was impressed by Beyond’s beach and said he wants to surf someday! He told me about his character, but also about how our careers share common points — routine, focus, discipline… things that are part of our worlds,” says Gabriel Medina.

Names from sport and culture

Beyond Medina, the night brought together leading names from sport and the cultural scene. Skate legend Bob Burnquist, the most decorated athlete in X Games history, was also present. He signs the club’s indoor skate area, which complements the sports facilities.     Actresses Bianca Comparato, known for the series Tremembé, and Giullia Buscacio, star of Os Donos do Jogo, also attended the event. Thus, the night fostered dialogue between different creative fields. Sport, audiovisual production and lifestyle met in the same environment.

Beyond The Club’s purpose

The night reinforced the plural spirit of Beyond The Club, which aims to promote connections and well-being on multiple levels. From sport to culture, the venue focuses on complete and memorable experiences. Therefore, it combines an artificial beach, wave pool, skate structure and cultural programming.     The celebration brought to life the club’s purpose of uniting talents, stories and worlds in one place. Finally, the meeting between Timothée Chalamet and Gabriel Medina confirmed the project’s vocation as a hub where audiences, idols and new narratives converge.
