Comedy legend Pierre Richard presents “Sonho, Logo Existo” and talks about classic “La Chèvre” in special screenings in São Paulo and Rio.
A living icon of French comedy
Actor and director Pierre Richard, a landmark name in French comedy, is in Brazil for the French Film Festival of Brazil. In São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, he will introduce his new feature “Sonho, Logo Existo” and discuss his work in the classic “A Cabra” (La Chèvre) in Q&A sessions with the audience.
In São Paulo, both films screen at Cine Marquise on Tuesday, December 2, followed by a conversation with the artist. In Rio, the sessions take place on Thursday, December 4, at Cinesystem Belas Artes Botafogo. Ticket prices follow each theater’s regular rates.
Homage to a 70-year career
At 91 years old, with over 100 films to his name, Pierre Richard is this year’s festival honoree. He presents “Sonho, Logo Existo”, shown in a special screening at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where he was also celebrated. Written by and starring Richard, the film follows two men from different generations who form an unlikely bond as they protect a runaway circus bear in rural France.
The festival also offers a retrospective of his career, including “Le Grand Blond avec une Chaussure Noire”, “Un Nuage entre Les Dents”, “Le Jouet”, “La Chèvre” and “Les Fugitifs”. Known for clumsy yet endearing characters, Richard’s physical humor and timing have often been compared to Harpo Marx and Charlie Chaplin. He received an honorary César in 2006.

About the French Film Festival of Brazil
The festival runs through December 10 in more than 50 cities, presenting 20 recent features and one classic. Many titles come from top-tier events such as Cannes and Venice. It is the only nationwide French film event in Brazil, with over 2 million spectators since its creation.
