Brazil celebrates 8 million international tourists in 2025 and officially announces TurisMall 2026, the tourism and audiovisual festival in Rio de Janeiro.

Ceremony at MAR highlights tourism sector

During a ceremony at the Museum of Art of Rio (MAR), Embratur President Marcelo Freixo highlighted the growth of the tourism sector and officially announced the TurisMall – Tourism and Audiovisual Festival, taking place in March 2026 in Rio de Janeiro.

Alongside entrepreneur and festival founder Mônica Medeiros, Freixo emphasized the strategic importance of uniting tourism and audiovisual on a national scale: “We need to take the best moment of audiovisual and tourism and make them create a great moment for Brazil and better promote its destinations.”

Purpose and vision of TurisMall

The TurisMall aims to train public managers from across Brazil, showing how to sell and promote destinations through tourism, economy, technology, and innovation. Rio de Janeiro is the ideal city to host this national movement.

According to Mônica Medeiros, “Rio de Janeiro embraced me, and I couldn’t have chosen a stronger location to host the country’s largest tourism, business, and innovation meeting. TurisMall chose Rio — and Rio chose Brazil.”
