Maison Fernand introduces two handcrafted Noël bûches inspired by French tradition, celebrating memory and classic pastry in a special holiday edition.
Maison Fernand, a pâtisserie located in Ipanema, presents two exclusive versions of the bûche de Noël, the traditional French “Yule log”. The creations highlight the festive spirit, evoke emotional memories, and reinforce the elegance of classic European pastry-making.
French tradition behind the creation
The bûche de Noël dates back to the 19th century, when French families would burn a large wooden log on Christmas Eve as a symbol of protection and prosperity. Over time, this ritual evolved into a dessert made of delicate genoise and creamy fillings, becoming a staple of French Christmas celebrations.
Maison Fernand reinterprets this heritage for the Rio de Janeiro audience, combining refined technique, authenticity and respect for the history of French confectionery.
Two exclusive flavors for the season
The first version features chocolate genoise, dark chocolate crèmeux, vanilla ganache montée and cherry jelly, creating a classic and elegant profile reminiscent of traditional French winter flavors. Price: R$ 550.00.
The second option highlights warm aromas with vanilla genoise, speculoos crème diplomate, hazelnut praliné and speculoos ganache montée, delivering spice notes typical of European holiday celebrations. Price: R$ 550.00.
Emotional significance
“The bûche has always been the highlight of Christmas dinner in my family. It was the moment when everyone paused, shared stories and celebrated together. Bringing this tradition to Rio de Janeiro is a way to share a piece of my memories and the spirit of French Christmas.”
Orders must be placed at least seven days in advance due to high demand during the holiday season.
