Deadcat Launches ‘Trait’ Single at Indie Night in Casa Rockambole
Alex Ferraz
Singer Deadcat launches “Trait,” the first single from his album Goth Ranch, in São Paulo on November 28. The event features shows by Ottopapi and Tall Juan.
The singer, songwriter, and producer Deadcat will perform a launch show at Casa Rockambole. The event takes place on November 28 in the capital of São Paulo. The track “Trait” will be available on platforms starting November 20.
“Trait” is the debut track from the artist’s second album, Goth Ranch. The album is expected in the first half of 2026. The performance opens the night promoted by Seloki Records. In addition, the party celebrates independent Latin American music.
Celebrating the Independent Scene
Deadcat’s performance will feature the special participation of Groovy Loff. The full lineup includes São Paulo’s Ottopapi and Argentina’s Tall Juan. Ottopapi will premiere the music video for “Ruim da Cuca” at the event.
Tall Juan is visiting São Paulo as part of his global tour. Following this, Dinho Almeida, the vocalist of Boogarins, will be responsible for the night’s DJ set. The event promises to be a vibrant showcase of sonic diversity.
Deadcat admits to being nervous about the debut and the change in sound. He describes the new album as creating the Goth Ranch concept. Therefore, the work will have a well-defined and unique narrative.
“We will play about half of the record, mixing it with the more danceable tracks from the first album.”
The Experimental Spirit of “Trait”
“Trait” synthesizes the experimental and emotional spirit of this new phase. The song mixes guitars and synths with a dense, melodic atmosphere. The artist defines the sound as a fusion of gothic, indie, and western.
The track offers a glimpse into the peculiar world Deadcat is building. Alternative pop flirts with existentialism and dark humor. Thus, every sound seems to echo from a fascinating internal desert.
Ottopapi is the solo project of Otto Dardenne, a São Paulo artist and producer. He is also a co-founder of Seloki Records. Furthermore, he begins his solo career in 2024. His debut album, Bala de Banana, is currently in production.
Tall Juan is a singular voice in Latin indie music, hailing from Buenos Aires. He currently resides in New York. The musician blends punk, folk, and psychedelic pop. His global tour revisits important moments of his artistic career.
