Xaolin Records, the music label founded by MC Hariel in São Paulo’s North Zone, enters a new phase of expansion. The label has signed a distribution agreement with Warner Music Brasil, meaning all its releases will now be distributed through the major label. The partnership aims to strengthen the label’s operations, expand its reach, and foster the development of new and independent artists in Brazil’s urban music scene.
Born from peripheral culture and the creative energy that drives contemporary Brazilian music, Xaolin Records started organically — first as a meeting space, then as an artistic hub, and gradually became a structured platform for music releases. The label’s growth has been guided by authenticity, collective work, and strong relationships with artists who share its vision and aesthetic.
The deal with Warner represents a milestone in this journey. The partnership strengthens Xaolin Records’ mission to provide professional support to artists at all career stages, increasing the impact of their music both locally and internationally. Warner contributes reach, resources, technology, and global operations, allowing the label to scale while maintaining its original identity.
“It’s an immense joy to embark on this journey with Warner, now realizing a personal dream: to bring new artists into the scene, connect them to the music industry, and foster our culture. Having a company with Warner’s size, resources, and expertise supporting us is historic. I’m excited for this next chapter with them and our partners at Xaolin Records,” says MC Hariel.
Hariel’s career and achievements
Hariel, affectionately known as Haridade by fans, is one of Brazil’s top funk artists, with over 4.3 billion audio streams, nearly 9 million monthly Spotify listeners, and massive social media engagement. His discography includes 7 albums, 1 EP, and numerous singles. Hariel is celebrated for turning personal experiences into music while staying committed to his roots.
Recently, he achieved a career milestone with a Latin Grammy 2025 nomination for “A Dança,” a collaboration with Gilberto Gil from the project “Funk Superação.” The track surpassed 71 million streams and views, reached the Top 15 in Brazil, entered the Top 100 in Portugal, and gained prominence on Spotify’s Viral Songs Global and Top Songs Brazil charts. The song reflects themes central to Hariel’s narrative: faith, hope, and transformation.
The Xaolin Records–Warner Music Brasil partnership marks not just a strategic move but a new chapter for a label that grew from the periphery, earned recognition on its own merits, and now expands to a global stage. Together, they aim to promote artists, strengthen the scene, and elevate the presence of peripheral culture in the global music market.
